By Matt Grant, Executive Director From the moment I arrived at Pleasant Hill Outdoor Camp I knew it was a special place. Over the course of the last 9 months I have not only seen the potential here but have learned what this place means to so many people. The memories made, the skills acquired, friendships developed and the connection to Jesus is undeniable and evident to anyone who has been associated with Pleasant Hill Outdoor Camp. In 2019, I want to focus our attention on what made Pleasant Hill Outdoor Camp special for all those that have been involved throughout the years. “My daughter began as a camper and absolutely loved the counselors, outdoor activities, skits, and singing. Each year my daughter has become more involved in PHOC by participating in Junior Staff and in 2019 as Senior Staff. PHOC has become a part of our family every summer and we relish in the opportunity to brag about their amazing experiences.” -Vicky, Camper/Staff Parent It has become our mission to honor and identify the keystones that were laid in the foundation here 65 years ago. These keystones not only include the physical setting of camp but also its culture and traditions. Over the past 65 years people have poured their time, passions and resources into Pleasant Hill Outdoor Camp and its mission. Ultimately connecting others to themselves and their faith walk with Jesus Christ. We strive to honor that by taking care of what we have while also building for the future. In alignment with our mission it is our focus to create an environment to help people take a next step towards their faith and self-growth. I want to share with you our 2019 campaign in solidifying our past and building for the future. This campaign is named “Foundations” and will give updates and a needed face-lift to our parking areas, lighting, pathways, Lodge bathrooms, program areas and cabins. “I am excited for the camp improvements because it will facilitate and build a community where campers and staff will feel at home and be able to unplug from the world around them.” -Tyrique, Summer Staff You’re invited to join us in this campaign! Any amount is welcome and can be applied to an area of your choosing or designated need.
