About the Place: We are located in the heart of Mohican Country in Northeast Ohio on the shore of the 800 acre Pleasant Hill Lake. We are surrounded by towering hardwoods, scenic Mohican hills, and natural streams. We offer a variety of camps that include horseback riding, archery, marksmanship, crafts, canoeing, climbing tower, and so much more. Every one of these programs and activities are made unforgettable by the staff who facilitate them.

Pleasant Hill believes strongly that supporting each summer staff member is essential. We are genuinely concerned that your have a dynamic, growth filled experience. So, we provide the following resources for all summer staff:
Staff Builders- Morning staff gathering for devotions and prayer.
Training- Staff members receive extensive orientation and training before campers arrive. CPR/ First Aid, Lifeguard training, emergency procedures, counseling skills, and practical experience in all phases of camp operation are some of the areas addressed.
Open Office- Full-time staff members are available YEAR ROUND to meet with you for support, advice and encouragement.
Brief Position Descriptions:
Counselors- Along with a co-counselor, you will care for each camper in your cabin by pouring out all of your energy from the moment they arrive to the moment they leave. You will lead your campers through every daily activity, lead cabin devotionals, and participate in evening fireside skits and programs. Most importantly, you will share the Gospel and build relationships by having FUN!
Health Officer- Delivers camper medications, addresses health concerns for campers and staff, uses camp's standing orders to determine the best treatments and care. Nursing and Medical college majors preferred.
*Lifeguards- Responsibilities will include providing for total care and supervision while campers are at the lake in the afternoons. Upkeep of beach front and lifeguard equipment, canoes, etc...
Photographer / Videographer / Media Manager- Captures incredible moments at camp in videos and photos that will be used year-round in camp marketing materials. Edits and produces weekly highlight videos for each camp session, and keeps the parents' photo page updated. Other program duties as assigned.
Cook- Prepares meals, place food orders, cleans after meal service, provides program support through special events requiring food, and generally supervises summer kitchen operations. Appropriate Serve Safe certification preferred.
Student Ministry Leaders- Oversees and mentors our Junior Staff Team. Responsible for directing, coaching, and caring for our high school volunteers as they gain experience in every aspect of camp. Works with Maintenance Managers to assign students to grounds and building up-keep. Works with Head Counselors to schedule students for program support, Works with the Cook to schedule students to kitchen and food prep. In addition to coaching your team, also expect to be personally involved in mowing, landscaping, building maintenance, food prep, and all camp activities as you lead by example.
Horsemanship Specialist- Teaches riding instruction, cowboy skills instruction and works with trail rides. Care of horses and barn maintenance is not a part of this position. Good driving record is required and past experience and competence in horse knowledge and background is essential. Will be responsible for driving the camp's 15 passenger van to and from the horse livery. This position will be the face of the P.H.O.C. horsemanship program, teaching campers and providing an atmosphere of education and FUN.
